'Ayurbalance' warm oil massage
Traditional deep tissue massage for fascia release, with warm oil blend tailored for your needs
Service Description
Your session begins with a warm herbal foot bath. This deeply personalised Ayurvedic massage combines traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern deep tissue massage and myofascial release (working on the connective tissue holding your muscles). It uses a conscious connection with strokes that are slow, meditative and deep, helping to dissolve emotional blockages and physical trauma stored in the body. The hands, knuckles, forearms and elbows are all used in precise, rhythmic strokes that go deeper layer by layer to free up tissue adhesions and release deeply held tension. Key marma points are also gently activated to release stagnation, support the flow of prana, and restore balance across the body’s systems. The rhythmic, intentional strokes follow the natural pathways of the lymphatic system, encouraging detoxification, reducing fluid retention, and supporting overall immunity. The experience is both deeply relaxing and subtly energising, making it especially beneficial for stress, anxiety, exhaustion, nervous system imbalance, muscular tension, and joint discomfort. It's not just a treatment; it's a physical and emotional reset to bring you back to your basic nature of balance. This massage can be combined with: -a cleansing castor oil pack placed over the liver, bowel, or another area of congestion/ inflammation - a herbal steam bath to further open the channels, promote circulation and support the body’s natural detoxification processes -Kati Basti using warm medicated oil retained over spine to relieve pain Please bring a warm hat wear home afterwards. "Following my first massage with Joanna my immediate reaction was the rather inelegant 'all other massages are dead to me'. But it was honestly that good! I am very sensitive to environment and her lovely location in Batcombe, coupled with a very cosy and pretty treatment room allowed me to relax instantly. I loved the Ayurvedic oil massage and left feeling incredibly peaceful and very pleased that I had finally booked in." (Camilla P) Ayurvedic warm oil massage should be avoided with fever, acute illness, active infection, or any contagious skin condition, as well as after recent surgery, fractures, or acute injuries.
